Nimisserie Joins the Lunch Buffet Bandwagon

Gone are the days when diners had to search for restaurants serving buffet. Today, all the hotels and top restaurants are joining the buffet bandwagon to woo the working section of the crowd. The office goers have limited lunch time and hence avoids travelling to longer distance. Also, very often they look out for buffet places rather than a-la-carte to save their time.

Latest to join this trend is one of the best restaurants in the city – Nimisserie. It reinvents some of the finest Indian fare and complements them with culinary techniques & ingredients from around the world. Nimisserie is an anthology of Chef Nimish Bhatia's presentations from the culinary caravan of fine smart-dining gathered and shared over decades.

In a very short span of time, Nimisserie has already earned a reputation for excellence in its culinary endeavours bringing to the table authentic flavours, engaging menus and quality ingredients.

Extending this illustrious repertoire of culinary delight to the city, they have now introduced the Nimisserie Lunch Buffet. Diners can savour the buffet delicacies from Monday to Saturday at INR 650+ taxes.

Last week, Dineout had arranged a selective bloggers table to experience the lunch buffet at Nimisserie. Dineout has revolutionized the dining experience where one can book a table at restaurant of his/her choice and get cash backs, rewards, discounts and vouchers. Recently, they launched 'Dineout Plus', an exclusive dining programme which allows its members to dine at more than 175 restaurants in 4 and 5 star hotels across Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata and provides them with a 25% discount on their total bill.

Talking about the positives of Nimisserie's lunch buffet, the vegetarian spread here is a big surprise hit. No, I am not a vegetarian, I am an avid meat and seafood person. But the variety of veggies dishes was just too good.

On a different note, it was disappointing to experience the non-vegetarian spread. The options were very limited and taste of the dishes just fall flat. You don’t experience such food when you walk in a place like Nimisserie. Having said that, the non-veg platter was something that will put a smile on the meat lovers.

One reason I love Nimisserie is because of their flair to experiment and what better to surprise everyone with Watermelon Pani Puri. Ohh yes, you had that right. Everyone sitting on the table was elated with this bundle of surprise and the plates just flew off the table one after the other.

In desserts there was one thing that just stole the show, it was ‘Shahi Tukda’. Diners were just waiting to get a bite of this delicious Indian dessert after finishing the wholesome meal. The staff really found it difficult to catch up with the pace Shahi Tukda was flying off the table and I don’t blame them at all. Other desserts too made their presence felt.

Overall, it was a good experience. There are few areas where they have a definite scope of improvement and I am sure the management at Nimisserie will take this feedback in a positive spirit.
